Gant's Guide: A Weekend With Long-Distance Friends

Hey dog-loving friends! It’s been awhile…

So much has been happening – between the election (which is still going on!), to more COVID cases increasing everyday, and just trying to manage daily life…it’s been stressful. I feel like these past few months have robbed us of a lot of joy, and we need as much as we can get.

After months of planning, my best friend and her boyfriend were able to come visit for a few days from Massachusetts. They drove down, with their three dogs, and hit the road. We all got tested right before the trip, so we could enjoy our time without a lot of worry.

17 hours later, I was hugging my best friend. I haven’t hugged anyone since March, and I swear I could feel my body finally relax as we embraced. Gant finally got to see his long time friend, Gus, an Australian shepherd mix who is as energetic and crazy as he is! Eddie the pug and Naomi the Great Pyrenees greeted us as well with sloppy dog kisses and lots of cuddles.

Here are some photos I took of these precious dogs. I hope this brings a little soothing to your soul as we anxiously await the election results. And make sure to hug your dog, too.

Eddie, the 13 year old pug who is the BOSS of the pack.
Naomi, who is independent and likes her alone time.
I couldn’t resist taking a dog selfie!
