This past weekend I had the privilege of being the designated photographer for Best Friends for Life Animal Rescue, Inc., a wonderful organization in Connecticut that rescues dogs from high-kill shelters and places them in foster homes until they are adopted.
And they are all adorable.
While it’s great that you can search thousands of dogs on adoption sites like Petfinder and Adoptapet.com, you don’t get a feel of their personalities. You can’t meet the people behind the organization; who work tirelessly to make sure these dogs get a good home.
The volunteers took turns with each dog so I could get a good photo. Every single dog I photographed was incredibly curious and friendly, and just wanted to give you kisses.
Every dog is unique and special, and I wanted to capture that through a lens.
I would literally tell every family that came to the event to adopt every dog. I mean, look at them! Look at how your daughter or son is bonding with them! Fill out an application now!
While I loved every dog, I really connected with Harley, a male, 2 year old Catahoula Leopard Dog mix. He was calm, sweet, and had a soul behind those golden brown eyes. I also love his pattern. I nearly filled out an application, too. I have a feeling he will get adopted soon though, as a lot of families seemed to like him too.
I can’t wait to go to more events, meet more dogs, and try to restrain myself from adopting them all! You can view their stories and adopt them here.
